Auntsfield Estate | Marlborough

The Cowley Brothers walking in Auntsfield Estate's Single Vineyard

Auntsfield Estate is the home of Marlborough's first colonial vineyard and winery. The original vineyard was established by visionary David Herd in 1873 and made highly regarded wine for over 50 years. Today, the estate is under the custodianship of the Cowley family who endeavour to keep David's passion alive. Grapes which have shared ancestry with Herd’s original vineyard are still grown on the land today. The same vines on the same patch of land.

Auntsfield Estate specialises in producing hand crafted Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of uncompromising quality and all from grapes carefully grown on the family owned Estate vineyard.

Hidden away on the vineyard is Herd's original wine cellar which has been lovingly restored to its historical glory. If you’re ever lucky enough to step into this cellar you will be struck by the cool air, the rich smell of the soil and the feeling of history under your feet. All of these things are what make Auntsfield Estate so authentic. A place where history is still alive in the land, and in the wine.
