Domaine Claude Dugat | Gevrey-Chambertin

Claude Dugat and family in the vineyards

Established in 1955, Claude Dugat is a tiny domaine with a stellar reputation, widely considered one of the top producers in Gevrey-Chambertin. Claude himself has recently stepped back to allow his son Bertrand and two daughters - Laetitia and Jeanne - to take the reins of their six hectares of vineyard. Their goal is to produce wines of real elegance and freshness and this is achieved through a rigorous focus on the raw materials. Old vines, low yields and an almost obsessive control over harvesting dates ensure that the berries remain small and concentrated, but not overripe. The approach to vinification is to leave as little imprint as possible on the finished wines, allowing the vineyard and vintage to express themselves fully.
