Bordeaux Wine Region Vineyards

Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellation wines may be produced anywhere in the Bordeaux region. These wines, which represent more than half of Bordeaux's total production, provide wine drinkers with solutions for any occasion and embody the much-appreciated Bordeaux style of elegance, style and aromatic complexity.

Traditional Bordeaux AOC wines are generally blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with sometimes portions of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot added. These wines are grown across the Bordeaux region on a myriad of soil types and exposures and as such quality cannot be guaranteed upon unless choosing a reliable grower or property that is known to perform well.

Bordeaux Supérieur wines use the same grape varieties as those in Bordeaux AOC wines, but picked on selected plots of older vines, consequently these types of wine are more concentrated, complex and powerful than most Bordeaux AOC wines.
