Mezzacorona State-of-the-Art Winery in Trentino, North Italy

Mezzacorona was founded in 1904 and was one of the first growers’ associations in Italy. Forward thinking and progressive for its time, the company remains so today, with a state-of-the-art winery and meticulous viticulture bringing out the full potential of its 2,400 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are to be found on the plains and terraces of the Dolomite foothills, stretching between Lake Garda and the Alps to the north. Each vineyard site is planted to the grape variety best suited to its particular characteristics: Teroldego on the Piana Rotaliana, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay in the Valle dell’Adige, and Merlot and Cabernet in the warmer zone towards Lake Garda. 75% of Mezzacorona's state-of-the-art winery is located underground, providing naturally cooler temperatures, whilst solar power is used to heat water and to provide a green source of electricity, saving further energy. At the winery the fruit quality is preserved all the way through to the bottle, aided by the latest equipment and technology, all wines, from the entry-level varietals to the small parcels of Riserva, receive equal attention. Combined with a longstanding adherence to sustainability and green innovation Mezzacorona represents the epitome of responsibility at every level – environmental, oenological and social.
