Studio Rosé by Miraval 2020
Studio Rosé by Miraval is the second Provence wine from Château Miraval that remains jointly owned by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The name Studio takes its inspiration from a music recording studio installed on the Provence estate by previous owner, and jazz musician, Jacques Loussier. It has played host to several high-profile bands in the past, including Pink Floyd and AC/DC. Studio by Miraval, like the estate rosé, has been made in partnership with the legendary Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel. Miraval's Studio Rosé is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Tibouren grapes coming from plots on the French Riviera, surrounded by olive trees and pine trees and strongly influenced by their proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. These salty soils give the wine a unique character and an amazing balance. All the grape varieties are vinified by direct pressing. The Cinsault and Tibouren in to stainless steel vats, whilst the Grenache and Rolle are partially vinified in tulip-shaped concrete vats with a rounded bottom. This ovoid shape gives rise to a natural convection movement that suspends the lees creating the same effect as a batonnage and gives the wine a lot of structure. Studio Rosé by Miraval is a very pale pink in colour displaying aromas of fresh citrus fruits. The palate is fleshy with notes of citrus and white flowers and a long finish with salinity.
