Oliver Leflaive Côte de Beaune Villages 2018
Olivier Leflaive is well-known for his fine white Burgundy made from the Chardonnay grape, but also produces stunning red wines from Pinot Noir and this Côte de Beaune Villages is a great example. Any vineyard from the Côte de Beaune can be used to produce this AOC red wine except the ones of Volnay, Pommard and Aloxe-Corton. Leflaive also regularly buy grapes in Pernand-Vergelesses, Monthélie, Auxey-Duresses, St-Aubin, Santenay, Les Maranges and Chorey-Les-Beaune. Matured for 15 months (2 months in stainless steel tank) and 100 % oak barrels (20% new oak) this perfumed Côte de Beaune Villages offers fresh summer fruits layered with spiced black cherries.
