C.V.N.E. Rioja Maceración Carbónica 2017
The C.V.N.E. Rioja Maceración Carbónica was created in homage to Rioja Alavesa's winemaking history and is made using the traditional carbonic maceration process. This involves producing the wine by alcoholic fermentation in the absence of oxygen. Made from 100% Tempranillo, the grapes were hand harvested and whole bunches were put into stainless steel tanks, where, at controlled temperatures, carbonic maceration took place; the traditional winemaking technique in Rioja Alavesa. This wine has great aromatic intensity with classic aromas of fresh strawberries, blackberries, wild berries and floral notes. On the palate there is marked sweet berry flavours with grippy tannins, leading to a long and fruity finish.
