Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs 2018
Ridge made its first vintage of Lytton Springs in 1972 from vines planted on the eastern half of the vineyard at the turn of the century. This single-vineyard, located in the Dry Creek Valley, is planted to Zinfandel and its principal complementary varietals. The 2018 vintage of Lytton Springs is a blend of Zinfandel (72%), Petite Sirah (18%) Carignan (8%) and Mataro (2%). Matured for 14 months in American oak Lytton Springs displays blackberry, pepper and liquorice notes on the nose. The palate is full-bodied with ripe plum, well integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish. Vibrant in its youth Lytton Springs has a great track record for ageing.
