Clau de Nell Grolleau 2012

The Clau de Nell wines are made with meticulous attention to detail using traditional methods. Grapes are hand-picked and pressed in a 200 year-old manual wine press to seperate the skins from the wine, which is then matured in barrel for 18-24 months in cellars dug deep into the chalk - traditional in this part of the Loire Valley.

The Grolleau grape is often considered the 'poor relation' when it comes to red grape varieties of the Loire; however, that's not so at Clau de Nell. This is a deep red wine rich in colour with dark fruit and spice flavours rich, full and mouth filling.
