Dominio de Pingus Flor de Pingus 2014
Flor de Pingus is the second label of Dominio de Pingus, one of the most sought after wines from Spain. Danish oenologist Peter Sisseck, the founder and winemaker, makes wines with great purity and freshness which are the hallmarks of Flor de Pingus, allied to a certain old vine complexity. With an average age of 35 years, these vines have a deep root system, intensifying the wine's personality. Just 30% of new oak adds another dimension, a richness in texture on the mid-palate and finish. Flor de Pingus has been biodynamically produced since 2005. The 2014 Flor de Pingus is a great opaque, rusty colour. The nose offers a dark, soaked, and densely rich black fruit cocktail perfume. The palate is sweet on entry, with beautifully coated tannins, layered flavours which are both intense and rich. There is a lovely freshness and purity, refined concentration and richness to the finish.
