Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Deidesheimer Riesling 2018
The Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Deidesheimer Riesling is a village quality blend of non-classified vineyards as well as declassified G.C. (Grosse Lage) vineyards from Deidesheim in the Pfalz region of southern Germany. The Bürklin-Wolf quality pyramid uses ratings from the Royal Bavarian Vineyard Classification of 1828 with a philosophy based on the Burgundian “Cru” system. The G.C. (Grosse Lage) and P.C. (Erste Lage) Rieslings are grown in the most valuable vineyard sites and the village Riesling sits just below this quality level. Deidesheim is a small, highly prestigious wine-growing village in Germany's Pfalz wine region with chalky clay and sandstone soils. Produced Biodynamically this Riesling has an intense nose of lime and white blossom. The palate has a crisp mineral note with lime, white peach and floral flavours. Perfectly balanced with a fresh acidity and an exceptionally long finish. This Riesling is perfect with smoked or grilled fish, pasta, salads and Thai green curries.
