Eisele Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Eisele is one of the greatest single vineyards in Northern California. It first became a vineyard over 120 years ago and was most recently named after Milton and Barbara Eisele, who bought the vineyard in 1969. The Eisele Vineyard produces arguably one of California's finest Sauvignon Blanc's that shows amazing complexity. All the grapes are certified ‘Organic’ and ‘Biodynamic’ by Demeter. The wine was aged on its lees for 12 months, in a combination of stainless steel (30%), concrete eggs (15%), used oak (40%) and new oak (15%). The nose displays an intense bouquet of guava and tropical fruits with a hint of gooseberry, then opens on Meyer lemons zest and mineral notes. The intensity and freshness are extraordinary. The palate is suave and focused, savoury, almost salty. Tension and minerality carry through the lingering finish. The best vintage of Sauvignon Blanc to date.
