Henschke Henry's Seven SGV 2015

Henschke's 'Henry's Seven' red wine blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Viognier and Mourvèdre is a tribute to Henry Evans who planted the first vineyard of seven acres at Keyneton in 1853. He quickly developed a reputation for producing the best wines in the southern colony. This blend highlights the historical introduction of southern French and Spanish varieties to South Australia in those early pioneering days and reflects the history, religion and culture of the Barossa.

The blend is dominated by Shiraz with Grenache, Viognier and Mourvèdre making up the component parts of the blend. Vibrant red in colour with intense aromas of blackberry, plum and anise lifted by floral notes, stone-fruits, pepper and crushed spices. The palate is juicy and rich full of ripe plum flavours, with savoury notes and a hint of licorice; fine-grained tannins provide texture and length for a beautifully svelte finish.

Will easily cellar for 10+ years from vintage.
