La Dame de Montrose 2010

Le Dame de Montrose is the second wine of Château Montrose, made to the same rigorous standards as the Grand Vin and from grapes grown in the same vineyard. 2010 was a particularly dry and relatively hot year displaying climatic characteristics of previous great Bordeaux vintages (1929, 1945, 1947, 1959, 1961,1989 and 2009). Perfect maturity and tannins of the grapes, brought a balance between power and elegance, abundance and finesse. The tannins are silky and smooth with complex aromas, all qualities of a great Montrose wine. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (64%) and Merlot (36%) the wine displays complex aromas of morello cherry, raspberry, dark tobacco, Havana, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is fresh, full and well balanced with recurring notes of raspberry, vanilla and mocha. Discreetly wooded the finish is long with well rounded tannins.
