Longrow Peated Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky

First distilled in 1973 Longrow is a double distilled heavily peated single malt produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. The malt is peat dried for up to 48 hours to give the whisky a unique Campbeltown-style smoky character. Less than 100 casks of Longrow are filled each year. As this whisky is not chill filtered a natural haze may form when its cold but this will disappear when the temperature returns to normal. Longrow Peated offers those who enjoy a heavily peated whisky the chance to enjoy a lingering smoky taste that travels through the senses like the smoke billows from a kiln. To the nose there are very creamy, vanilla custard aromas. The smoke develops and toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruits appear over time. The palate is incredibly well balanced, rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present and washes over the palate in waves and lingers long onto the finish.
