Orin Swift Mannequin 2016

Orin Swift Mannequin is a white wine made predominately from Chardonnay grapes. Largely sourced from the Sonoma Coast and Atlas Peak AVAs, Mannequin has been a staple of the Orin Swift lineup showcasing the best California Chardonnay available. Winemaker Dave Phinney searched across the state and ended up closer to home than usual. Through a number of trials, he blended together a balanced Chardonnay, using a bit of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat to flesh out the wine and add complexity, resulting in a wine unlike any out there.

Aged in 40% new French oak sur lie for 9 months this white wine is bursting with aromatics of honeydew, honeysuckle and ripe peach, complemented by a hint of jasmine, pineapple and cream. With lots of weight and viscosity, the full-bodied palate brims with ripe stone fruit, wet stone and a touch of sweet Meyer lemon. The fleshy, golden mid-palate evolves into a pointed, textured finish that closes with lots of minerality.
