The Wine Merchants Provence Rosé by Grand Cros 2018

The Wine Merchants Provence Rose is made by Canadian Julian Faulkner at Grand Cros, who took over the winery from his parents in 1999. The 24 hectares of vineyards in the foothills of the Massif des Maures, surrounded by pine and olive trees, have since been upgraded, as has the winery, enabling him to better respect the great potential of terroir and the surrounding environment. From the northern sector of the appellation, the soils of Grand Cros have a high clay content and the climate is slightly cooler, providing cooling breezes but also less water stress to the wines.

Pale salmon in colour, this Côtes de Provence rosé has a soft nose, ripe with raspberry and cranberry fruit. It is lifted by an elegant, perfumed note reminiscent of the wild flowers of the region. The palate has a lovely roundness to it, displaying juicy berry fruits, delicate floral flavours and a hint of spice, resulting in a very moreish finish.

NB: The Wine Merchants Provence Rosé Label is Temporarily Out of Stock and so orders for this wine will be substituted with the Domaine Le Grand Cros Rosé which is an identical wine from the same producer albeit under the Domaine's own label.
