The Wine Merchants Rosé 2017

The Wine Merchants Rosé is a modern style rosé made from the Garnacha grape. The fruit is sourced in Cariñena, a rugged, empty region with the nearest town, Zaragoza, 50 kilometres away. The varieties are spread over different altitudes, starting at 400 metres above sea-level, rising to 800 metres as they ascend the Sierra de la Virgen mountains.

The colour is key here; an alluring, gentle salmon-pink. Garnacha gives the wine a gentle note of strawberry along with the merest hint of white pepper that provides lift, making it a happy partner to lightly flavoured plates. The wine is dry and best served chilled, with condensation gathering on the bottle.
