Duluc de Branaire-Ducru 2018
Château Branaire-Ducru is undoubtedly producing some of the finest wines in Saint Julien today and they also have one of the most impressive second wines, the Duluc de Branaire-Ducru, which has been made at the Château since 1988. Retaining much of the purity and character of its elder brother, Duluc de Branaire-Ducru is an elegant wine that can be enjoyed even at its youngest. The blend is Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (44%), Cabernet Franc (1.5%) and Petit Verdot (0.5%) matured for 12 months in French oak. The nose displays multiple layers of aromas and very subtle red fruits, their purity heightened by elegant floral notes. The palate is very round, followed by a wonderful fleshy feel and already enjoyable smoothness. It goes on to reveal a very elegant tannic structure and lovely sharpness on the long, aromatic finish.
