At Hic!, we believe the delivery process is just as important as the winemaking itself. After all, a bottle of wine is heavy, fragile, and sensitive to travel.
That is why we don't cut corners on logistics. We partner exclusively with DPD, the UK’s leading premium carrier, and use specialist PulpSafe packaging to ensure your wine arrives safely, securely, and exactly as intended.
OUR 'HYBRID CELLAR' MODEL (5-7 Working Days)
To offer you access to our full range of over 2,000 wines, we operate a dual-stock system:
- The Ledston Cellar: Our immediate shop stock.
- The External Bonded Reserve: Our specialist temperature-controlled warehouse for fine & rare wines.
The Consolidation Process: We collect from our Bonded Reserve once a week. This allows us to check every bottle personally and consolidate your full order into one single, perfect consignment. While many orders arrive sooner, we ask for 5 to 7 Working Days to allow for this care and attention. As part of our stock and quality guarantee we perform an immediate stock check after receiving your order. If we discover any shortfalls or if a vintage change is required, we will contact you personally via email to advise alternative options.
DELIVERY CHARGES
We do not hide our costs. Our delivery charges cover the genuine expense of secure packaging, insurance, and a fully tracked next-day courier service.

Extended Delivery Areas (Highlands, Islands & Northern Ireland)
Shipping heavy, multi-bottle cases of fragile glass to non-mainland or Highland addresses requires specialist, extended courier routing. For multi-bottle orders (over 2kg) to the postcodes listed below, the following rates apply (typically a 48-72 hour service):
Orders under £250.00: £20.00 Surcharge
Orders over £250.00: Free Delivery (Hic! fully absorbs the courier premium)

SECURE & SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING
We are proud to use PulpSafe bottle packaging. This is not cheap polystyrene; it is a heavy-duty, biodegradable protection system made in the UK from 100% recycled materials.
- Protection: Offers the highest level of shock absorption for glass.
- Eco-Credentials: Fully compostable. You can put it in your home compost, use it as a garden planter, or recycle it.
IMPORTANT DELIVERY DETAILS
ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED:
Due to the laws regarding the Sale of Alcohol, DPD will not leave your order without a signature from a person over 18.
TRACKING:
On the day of delivery you will receive a 1-hour delivery window via email/SMS. We strongly recommend downloading the DPD App to manage your slot.
