Doña Paula Altitude 1350
Doña Paula Altitude 1350 is a unique red wine blend that comprises of Cabernet Franc (50%), Malbec (45%) and a small quantity of Casavecchia, an extremely rare red grape variety from Campania in Italy. Casavecchia has high levels of anthocyanins which impart its wines with deep colours and strong, supple tannins. The Cabernet Franc contributes very spicy and floral notes, while the Malbec gives it notes of red fruits. The grapes for Doña Paula 1350 come from 2 blocks (No10 and No7) of the Alluvia vineyard located in Gualtallary at 1,350 meters above sea level. Each grape variety was vinified separately in stainless steel tanks, to extract the primary aromas. Once fermentation was complete, the wines were blended and matured in French oak (20% new) for 16 months. Altitude 1350 is a complex, beautifully balanced red wine with spicy and floral notes from the Cabernet Franc and vibrant red fruit notes from the Malbec. Elegant and well-structured with polished tannins which give a long, persistent finish.
