Brancaia Winery and Vineyards in Chianti Classico

Brancaia, made up of the three estates of Brancaia, Poppi and Brancaia in Maremma, has been owned by the Swiss couple Brigitte and Bruno Widmer since 1981. It is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area and witnessed a meteoric rise to stardom when it’s vintage 1983 won first place at a major Chianti Classico tasting.

Since then, Brancaia’s reputation has continued to flourish through an uncompromising dedication to quality and producing internationally acclaimed wines made in a state-of-the-art winery. Il Blu, the estate’s flagship wine is sought after by wine lovers everywhere.

La Brancaia is managed by oenologist and daughter of the owners, Barbara Widmer supported by the brilliant oenologist Dr. Carlo Ferrini and is one of Tuscany’s top estates, winning national and international awards year after year. As Stephen Spurrier wrote in Decanter "Brancaia produces modern Classics.’’
