Vineyards of Château d'Aqueria in Tavel, Southern Rhône

Château d'Aqueria is an historic one hundred acre property located in Tavel and is considered one of the jewels of the southern Rhône Valley. Nestled in the heart of the garrigue with the backdrop of an unmistakably Mediterranean hillside, the vineyards of Château d’Aqueria extend across the appellations of Tavel and Lirac.

Château d’Aqueria has been making wines in Tavel since the end of the 16th century, when monks from the Abbey of Villeneuve-les-Avignon transferred a large tract of land to the Count of Aqueria. Today, the property is under the ownership of Guigal, but is being kept very separate from the parent team in Ampuis. Great investment has been made  and a new state-of-the-art winery has been built. Grapes of exceptional quality from such a noble terroir allow Château d’Aqueria to craft a quintessential Tavel, widely appreciated as the finest wine of its appellation.
