Château Siran | Margaux
Château Siran is a wonderful Margaux estate that was once owned by the painter Toulouse-Lautrec`s great-grandmother. Since 1848 Siran has been owned by the Miailhe family and today is run by the sixth generation Édouard Miailhe.
It is said in the Médoc that the great estates look out over the Gironde and Château Siran certainly belongs to this family of first-rate growths, perched on a plateau of fine siliceous gravel, admirably exposed to the south of the Margaux appellation, only a few metres from the estuary. The 25 hectares of vineyard (in one single block) are tended like a garden and planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Siran's wines are the very expression of the great Margaux Grand Crus, complex and elegant in character, favouring finesse and silkiness with the strength of the Médoc.
