Domaine de la Charbonnière | Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Domaine de la Charbonnière in Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Domaine de la Charbonnière was purchased by Eugene Maret in 1912 and 100 years later it is still a family-owned affair. The Domaine currently owns 12 hectares of prime vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and 4.5 hectares in Vacqueyras. This is a top quality domaine making rich, succulent wines of great style. Michel Maret has now handed over the running of the property to his daughters. Véronique is the winemaker and sister Caroline is in charge of the office. Michel produced wonderfully well balanced wines that combined intensity and depth of fruit with finesse and elegance. Véronique is now lending a feminine touch to the winemaking and whilst the wines have always been superb, there is a now a new fresh elegance.
