Domaine Rijckaert | Mâconnais
Vins Rijckaert began in 1998, founded by a passionate Flemish winemaker named Jean Rijckaert, who had been working in the region since 1990. He established his own domaine with four hectares in the Mâconnais (focused on Viré-Clessé) as well as five hectares in the Jura, making him the first person to produce wines simultaneously in both regions.
In 2013 Jean met his alter ego Florent Rouve, a fellow winemaker who became Jean’s protégé. Gradually he passed on his savoir-faire and philosophy to Florent, and eventually transferred the business itself. Florent has continued to evolve the style of Vins Rijckaert wines with his own signature, marking them with great freshness and precision.
The portfolio now covers a breadth of appellations across the two regions, including Viré-Clessé, Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Côtes du Jura and Arbois, with 60% of the production in Burgundy and 40% in Jura.
