Domaines Francis Abécassis | Cognac
Cognac ABK6 is owned and run by the father and daughter team of Francis and Elodie Abécassis of Domaines Francis Abécassis. Domaines Francis Abécassis has been producing cognacs from its own estate for many years, but in 2005 Elodie and her father noticed a gap in the market: the need for a modern Cognac brand to appeal to a new generation of Cognac drinkers, and ABK6 was born.
ABK6 is taken from the shorthand the family have always used to write their surname, Abécassis and is pronounced ‘A beh ca sis’. Each quality of Cognac is blended from a selection of very old eaux-de-vies (much older than is legally required) and showcases the fruit of Domaines Francis Abécassis, composed of Domaine de Dizedon in Grande Champagne, Domaine Champagne Drilhon in Petite Champagne and Domaine de Chez Maillard in Fins Bois.
Francis and Elodie firmly believe blending “eaux-de-vie” from their own family estates gives the ABK6 cognacs an inimitable character and depth. Domaines Abécassis was awarded the ‘Excellence in Craftsmanship Award’ at the International Spirits Challenge in 2010 and ‘Cognac Producer of the Year Award’ at the New York International Spirits Competition in 2014.
