Lismore Estate Vineyards | Greyton

Samantha O'Keefe left her native California and an executive TV job with dreams of starting a family and enjoying a simpler life. She found her own sliver of paradise in the form of a 600 acre former dairy farm in Greyton, South Africa. The estate is 300 meters above sea level and tucked into the foothills of the dramatic Riviersonderend mountain range. She shares her property with a troop of baboons and a leopard.

The 30 acres of vineyards are planted in a terroir of decomposed shale and clay with Syrah, Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Franc vines. She is the only producer in the cool climate region of Greyton and the combination of elevation and climate make for classic, cool climate wines which are rich, complex and lovingly hand crafted.

Since her inaurgural vintage of 2006 Samantha has quietly gone about creating a cult following for her Lismore Estate label and it is no surprise that these delicious wines are extremely sought after and often in limited quantities.
