Rieslingfreak | Clare Valley

Rieslingfreak vineyards

John Hughes established Rieslingfreak in 2009 and together, with his wife Belinda, their label has immortalised John's nickname while at university, where his love of the grape bordered on the obsessive. The fruit for the Rieslingfreak collection is sourced from three South Australian regions, including Clare Valley, Eden Valley and Polish Hill River. They make several different styles, including dry, sweet, sparkling (Sekt) and fortified. Each of their Rieslings have a number and that number represents both the region where the grape is grown and the style of the Riesling. The philosophy of Rieslingfreak is to provide Riesling enthusiasts with the finest expressions of the variety, representative of different regions and styles. Rieslingfreak has rapidly become one of the definitive producers of this variety, earning a cult following at home and abroad.
