Australia | Riverina District
The Riverina district is the largest wine producing region in New South Wales and is centred around the city of Griffith. The region was settled by Italian immigrants and returned soldiers who established large-scale market gardening and grape growing in an area supplied by the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Scheme.
The Riverina is most famous for its fortified and dessert wines, notably De Bortoli's Noble One Botrytis, a benchmark wine of its style and an Australian classic.
