Stag's Leap Vineyard in California's Napa Valley

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is one of the undisputed icons of California's Napa Valley. The winery was founded in 1970 with the purchase of the S.L.V. vineyard. Only six years later, the 1973 S.L.V. Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the highest honour at the Judgment of Paris blind tasting, beating First and Second Growth Bordeaux Chateaux. Since then they have become one of the most lauded and sought after wine producers anywhere in the world.

The winery is located in the Stags Leap District, a small sub-division in the south-eastern Napa Valley known for producing particularly elegant and age-worthy wine. Over the last five decades, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars have witnessed the dizzying proliferation of Napa Valley vineyards, yet amidst all their new neighbours have retained their own, compelling voice.
