Viña Zorzal | Mendoza

Zorzal Winery in Mendoza

Zorzal Wines is a boutique winery founded in 2008 by the renowned wine-making Michelini Brothers together with Canadian investment partners. The winery and vineyards are located at Gualtallary in the Uco Valley, one of the most outstanding areas for viticulture in Argentina. At 1,350 meters above sea level Gualtallary is located at the highest point of the Mendoza wine province at the foot of the Tupungato volcano, which provides the perfect terroir for wines with great structure and acidity.

The winery utilises state-of-the-art technology in crushing, fermentation and ageing. In order to achieve natural wines of the highest quality, the winery was designed on four levels to transport grapes and wines by gravity, without the use of pumps. In their search to get the best out of the Gualtallary terroir, the Michelini brothers are constantly innovating processes, and this has involved bringing in roll fermenters and egg-shaped vats, in addition to introducing staggered harvesting and micro-vinifications in casks.

The Michelini brother's are renowned by the international press as trend-setters of the Argentinian winemaking scene and as such the Zorzal wines are rapidly gaining international recognition.
