Hinch 12 Year Old Amarone Cask Finish Irish Whiskey
The Hinch Distillery is located just south of Belfast, Northern Ireland in the grounds of the beautiful Killaney Estate. The distillery takes its name from the nearby town of Ballynahinch, whose name in Irish translates as ‘town of the island’. Within the distillery design Hinch have incorporated many unique elements allowing them to validate their ‘craft’ credentials and also position themselves as key innovators within the Irish whiskey category. The marriage of triple distillation and a maturation process that captures the unique union of spirit and wood imparts a flavour like no other in their whiskies. This limited release 12 Year Old Hinch Amarone Cask Finish Irish Whiskey is matured for 11 years in used American Oak Bourbon casks and then finished in Masi's Amarone casks for 12 months. To the nose this is floral and luscious with notes of plum and cut flowers. The palate is balanced and generous with blackcurrant and elderflower to the fore leading onto a finish of ripe pear, black cherry and cinnamon.
