Champagne Drappier Grande Sendrée Rosé 2010

The Champagne Drappier Grande Sendrée Vintage Rosé takes its name from a parcel of land covered in cinders (cendrée) after the fire which ravaged Urville in 1838. A spelling error having slipped into a new version of the land register, today Sendrée is written with “s”, not “c”. On very light soils made up of “crayot”, the Pinot Noir brings its power and vinosity in a very subtle manner. A splash of Chardonnay gives great elegance to the whole. The Grande Sendrée Vintage Rosé  is made by means of the saignée method. During the vinification process only the juices from first pressing - the cuvées - are used, mechanical low-pressure presses and the use of gravity to avoid pumping, thus avoiding oxidisation is implemented. There is the minimal use of sulphur, no filtering and after bottling, the cuvée is aged for more than 6 years sur lattes (on laths). A complex nose opening onto notes of strawberry, raspberry and violets with toasted nuances. The palate is round, fresh and complex with prominent red fruit flavours.

Orders over £250 are delivered FREE. If you are happy to proceed with an order including the stated delivery charges we will raise a separate invoice for the additional cost and email it to you. Find out more on our Delivery Page

Delivery Times

We aim to to have your delivery with you within 5-7 working days of receiving your order, but often it can be much sooner. If you need your order by a certain date please get in touch and we'll do our best to get it to you as required.

Vintage Availability

We endeavour to display accurate and current vintages on all our wines listed on the website; however, from time to time stocks of the vintage listed do become exhausted. If this is the case with your order we will always contact you to recommend another vintage of the same wine, if it is still available. If the vintage of a wine is important to you then please leave a note at checkout advising us of this.

Stock Availability

As we are retail stockists, selling from our Ledston shop as well as online, it makes it difficult for us to show a 'real-time' inventory of our wines and spirits online. As such, very occasionally, a wine may be out of stock that the website has allowed you to order.

To ensure a timely delivery, we are happy to substitute your order with a similar wine of equal or higher value and at no additional cost to you!

If this is not an acceptable solution please advise us in the 'Add A Comment' section at the checkout.

The Producer Champagne Drappier | Urville

Champagne Drappier Vineyards in Urville, France

For one of Champagne’s most forward-thinking producers, Drappier has no shortage of historic roots. An eighth-generation family business, the house was founded in 1808, and occupies magnificent twelfth-century cellars built by Cistercian monks. Indeed, it was members of this monastic order who travelled up from Burgundy to the Aube region...
