Tenuta San Leonardo Carmenère 2016
The Tenuta San Leonardo Carmenère is made from 100% Carmenère grapes harvested from the estate's oldest vineyards. Small concrete vats are used for fermenting and first and second-use French oak barrels are used for maturing the wine over a period of 24 months. This is a full-bodied and complex expression of Carmenère, a grape variety originally from Bordeaux and now cultivated in the vineyards of the Dolomites. It displays rich aromas of dark red fruits, cherry, blackberry a hint of vanilla and spicy peppery notes. The palate is well-structured and velvety with ripe tannins and a long finish.
