Central Italy
The vineyards which run down the spine of Italy produce an array of wines which are startling in their diversity and offer numerous examples of approachable and competitively priced wines.
Central Italy can easily be described as the heartland of Italian wine production divided physically by the Apennine Mountains. To the west of the Apennines, lie Tuscany, Latium and the landlocked Umbria. To the east of the Apennines, on the Adriatic side, lie the Marches, Abruzzi and Molise.
