Maison Joseph Drouhin Marc de Bourgogne
Marc de Bourgogne is the result of distilling the solid residue (skins, pips and stalks) known as 'marc' that remains after the pressing of the grapes. Marc de Bourgogne, its storage, distillation and the ageing of eaux de vie, must be undertaken inside the geographical wine area of Burgundy. It is made from either red or white grapes or both. Distilled over winter, what is produced is a new make spirit as pure as spring water, but very strong. After 10-20 years of barrel aging a sumptuous Brandy-like spirit is the result. The Joseph Drouhin Marc de Bourgogne displays aromas of gingerbread, tobacco, vanilla and dried fruits that lead the way to a soft finish in the palate with wonderful spicy flavours.
