Château La Tour de l'Evêque Winery in Provence

Château La Tour de l'Evêque is located in the Var close to Pierrefeu and was acquired by the Sumeire Family in 1958. Formerly belonging to the clergy as the summer residence of the archbishops of Toulon, this large estate is peculiar in that it bears two names: Château La Tour de l’Evêque and Château La Tour Sainte Anne. Its past is part of the history of Provence and France. Queen Mary, Countess of Provence, gave privileges on this land to the inhabitants of Cuers.The sister of King René, Queen Jeanne, the Queen of Naples, is thought to have stayed there.

In addition to been certified organic since 2005, a brand new state of the art gravity-fed winery has recently been installed, consequently, the quality of the wines from this historic estate go from strength to strength.
