Château Troplong Mondot | Saint Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé "B"

Château Troplong Mondot enjoys an enviable position overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saint Émilion located at the highest point of the famous limestone plateau. The property was ranked as a Saint Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé "B" in 2006 and reconfirmed in 2012, thanks to the hard work of Christine Valette. Sadly, Christine died in 2014 and French reinsurance company SCOR purchased the property in 2017.
Significant investments has since been made by the owners, beginning with the the appointment of talented winemaker Aymeric de Gironde (formerly of Pichon Baron and St-Estèphe second growth Cos d’Estournel) as well as bringing in a new winemaking consultant. Aymeric has overseen the modernisation of the winemaking facilities with a brand new state-of-the-art vat room and stunning barrel room. Together, Aymeric and the team have taken Troplong Mondot in a new direction, producing profoundly fresh wines that encapsulate an overarching stylistic shift in Saint Émilion.
