d'Arenberg | McLaren Vale, Australia
d'Arenberg is a world renowned, family owned, McLaren Vale winery that produces high quality, award winning Australian wines. The estate’s original Milton Vineyards were planted in the 1890s high in the hills of the McLaren Vale, and were purchased in 1912 by teetotaller Joseph Osborn whose family have owned the business ever since.
Today fourth generation family member Chester Osborn is at the winemaking helm, making distinctive wines using traditional methods in the winery and the vineyard. From entry level to iconic, the d’Arenberg wines are all hand crafted with both red and white grapes undergoing basket pressing. The reds are still traditionally fermented with the grape skins (caps) submerged in open wax-lined concrete fermenters utilising the age-old technique of foot-treading.
From entry level to iconic, all d’Arenberg wines are basket pressed with red wines foot trod during fermentation. With over 70 wines and 30 different grape varieties, including white, red, fortified, sparkling red and dessert wines there is something for everyone. Over a thousand show medals and praise from wine critics the world over are a testament to their pedigree.
