Eradus Wines | Awatere Valley

Eradus Wines is a boutique, family-owned estate located in the Awatere Valley, a sub region of Marlborough with its own unique microclimate. The Awatere Valley is windier, dryer, stonier, cooler and on the whole more extreme than Marlborough’s other regions. These conditions create wines with a distinct mineral backbone and crisp, clean acidity.

Har, Sophie and the Eradus kids emigrated from Holland to New Zealand in the early 1980s and settled in the Marlborough wine region looking for a semi-retirement project. Upon development, completion and launching of the brand with the “Eradus Sauvignon Blanc 2002″, Har and Sophie realised a vineyard and wine label was a proposition far from semi-retirement. In 2004, Hanna and Michiel Eradus took over the reigns.

Their status as a boutique wine producer allows us them to carefully monitor the quality of the wines which are produced and pride themselves on continuously producing great wine.

A recent vintage of their Pinot Gris won the trophy at the Air New Zealand wine awards for best Pinot Gris, Oz Clarke voted their Pinot Noir in the top eight best red wines in the world and their Sauvignon Blanc 2012 was winner of two gold medals.

Theses wines are elegant in style and sophisticated in nature and certainly worth trying out.
