Finca Allende Rioja Blanco 2019
The Finca Allende White Rioja is made from a blend of Viura and Malvasia grapes grown in Briones with the vines now averaging over 55 years in age. In the vineyard Miguel adopts a sustainable approach with respect to the environment, following the natural cycles of the plant and utilising organic fertilisers. All the grapes are manually harvested and the bunches carefully selected by hand in the winery. After gentle pressing the wine is aged for fourteen months in Bordelese French oak barrels. The first seven months with the lees, performing stirring twice a week and then following racking, seven months without the lees. A golden yellow lemony colour, Allende Rioja Blanco displays an elegant and subtle nose with citrus fruits notes (grapefruit)alongside stone-fruits (peach and greengage plum). The palate is plush and intensely flavoured with well integrated oak and long persistent finish.
