Côte Chalonnaise Vineyards

The Côte Chalonnaise is a continuation south of the Côte d’Or vineyards and is probably the least-known, yet certainly the best-value wine district in Burgundy. It is a straight-forward source of wine as there are only five appellations; two that are exclusively Chardonnay production and three that produce both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The Côte Chalonnaise is an area renowned for the production of fine Crémant de Bourgogne, whilst in Bouzeron, it also has the only single-village appellation of Aligoté wine. Key wines to look out for and certainly worthy of consideration are those from Givery, Mercurey, Montagny and Rully.
