Giacomelli | Liguria

Azienda Giacomelli is a winery located in Colli di Luni, Castelnuovo Magra, Italy, founded by Roberto Petacchi in 1993. His vision was to transform the family business, a traditional farm, into a winery, with the aim of recovering ancient vineyards, real crus of French conception (among these are Boboli and Il Giardino dei Vescovi ) and to dedicate his life to the production of wines made from the Vermentino grape.

A bold choice which, in just under 30 years, has proved to be enlightened, as demonstrated by the numerous awards that the company's wines have received in recent years in Italy and beyond. There is an awe inspiring dedication to the Vermentino grape. The amount of care given to ensure each vineyard, based on its unique position, proximity and exposure to the sea and its winds, is given the chance to express its own ‘soul’.  In the vineyard they cultivate in an ancient and healthy way without pesticides and using natural fertilisers to produce beautifully nuanced, structured and complex wines.
