Shortly after Prohibition ended in the United States, Heaven Hill Distillery was founded in Bardstown, Kentucky by the Shapira family to produce and market bourbon and premium American whiskeys. Today, it is still family owned and has grown to become the second largest bourbon distiller in the world.
