The Domaine Georges Joillot Pommard Vieilles Vignes is 100% Pinot Noir sourced from 11 separate parcels, including Les Vaumuriens, with an average vine age of 55 years. At the winery the grapes are all destemmed and after fermentation the wine matures in oak barrels (25% new) for approximately 10 months. On the nose the Domaine Georges Joillot Pommard Vieilles Vignes displays aromas of ripe cherry and plum with subtle spice and floral notes. The palate is full-bodied with refined tannins and balanced acidity. The flavour profile mirrors that found to the nose with rich cherry and blackberry flavours alongside notes of liquorice and black pepper. The old vines contribute to a concentrated mid-palate, with a pleasing minerality and a velvety texture.
