La Braccesca | Tuscany
Purchased by Antinori in 1990, the 'La Braccesca' estate extends for over 508 hectares (1255 acres), of which 340 hectares (840 acres) are planted with vines. The wines have been made here for 1200 years and with its warmer climate and local variant of Sangiovese - Prugnolo - Vino Nobile di Montepulciano offers a richer and headier experience than Chianti to the north. In addition to the traditional Nobile di Montepulciano the estate straddles the neighbouring appellation Cortona, an emerging wine producing area with great potential and is proving Italy's most successful appellation for Syrah.
