Perdriel | Luján de Cuyo

Bodega Norton Perdriel Vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, Argentina

Perdriel is the original vineyard of Bodega Norton and is where this famous Argentinian producer has its winery located. With a hundred years of continuous cultivation, it consists of 100 hectares, almost entirely planted 950m above sea level, with vines aged between 30 and 50 years old. The terroir offers a combination of poor soils and cold air coming from the mountain, which produces aromatic and concentrated white and red grapes, perfect for making powerful and elegant high-end wines. It excels in the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec varieties. Whilst the vineyard provides many grapes for Norton's main range of wines some of the best lots are set aside and vinified separately to give a different expression of the Luján de Cuyo terroir. The Perdriel range of wines are thus complex, savoury, less fruit-driven, more mineral and made only in very limited quantities.
