Pere Ventura | Penedes, Spain
Pere Ventura's high quality cava house was established in 1992, but draws on a sparkling wine heritage that extends deep into the past. Pere's great-grandfather was responsible for the first cava ever made by the classical method used in Champagne, and his grandfather and father continued to hone their technique in producing cava's of distinction.
It was just after turning 30 that Pere decided to honour this family history with the creation of his own cava business and in the intervening years he has gone onto capture many international markets with his range of premium cava's. It has done so through a combination of eye-catching packaging, with its chequered foil and distinctive handprint emblem, together with respect for the traditional cava grape varieties; Xarel.lo, Macabeo and Parellada for the whites and Trepat for the rosés.
