Rathfinny Wine Estate Blanc de Blancs 2019

The Rathfinny Wine Estate Blanc de Blancs is a traditional-method sparkling wine made from 100% estate grown Chardonnay grapes. The estate vineyard is protected from the worst of the prevailing south westerly winds by a natural ridge that runs along the southern edge of the Estate. Sustainability and stewardship of the land are at the heart of Rathfinny’s philosophy. The team have worked closely with Natural England and the South Downs National Park, to implement a programme which enhances local wildlife habitats and reclaims areas of natural chalk grassland. Rathfinny’s focus on the environment, and commitment to sustainability and soil health, ensure excellent quality fruit. The grapes are all hand harvested, whole bunch pressed and vinified with as little intervention as possible. The base wine was fermented in stainless steel at 16°C, followed by malolactic fermentation. After bottling, the wine was aged for 36 months on lees to develop autolytic complexity and rich mouthfeel. Following disgorgement, the wine received a low dosage of 4g/l to preserve the purest expression of vintage and place. Rathfinny’s Blanc de Blancs is pale lemon in colour with flecks of gold. The nose is characterised by aromas of lemon curd, pastry and citrus blossom. The palate displays fine balance with linear acidity and creamy mouthfeel. The finish is long with salty notes developing into richer aromas of roasted hazelnut and toast.

Find out more on our Delivery Page

Delivery Times

We aim to to have your delivery with you within 5-7 working days of receiving your order, but often it can be much sooner. If you need your order by a certain date please get in touch and we'll do our best to get it to you as required.

Vintage Availability

We endeavour to display accurate and current vintages on all our wines listed on the website; however, from time to time stocks of the vintage listed do become exhausted. If this is the case with your order we will always contact you to recommend another vintage of the same wine, if it is still available. If the vintage of a wine is important to you then please leave a note at checkout advising us of this.

Stock Availability

As we are retail stockists, selling from our Ledston shop as well as online, it makes it difficult for us to show a 'real-time' inventory of our wines and spirits online. As such, very occasionally, a wine may be out of stock that the website has allowed you to order.

To ensure a timely delivery, we are happy to substitute your order with a similar wine of equal or higher value and at no additional cost to you!

If this is not an acceptable solution please advise us in the 'Add A Comment' section at the checkout.

The Region Great Britain

Winemaking in Great Britain can be traced back to Roman times, when every important villa had a garden of vines. However, a succession of winemakers through the ages have struggled to make successful wines in such a marginal climate and commercial winemaking was almost non-existent until Hambledon was established in...
